Badminton Herts Development Committee

The Badminton Herts Development Committee (initially called ‘HSBA-HBA Development Committee ‘) was established in April 2005 for county development as required by Sport England  and BADMINTON England. This was, to co-ordinate badminton development, to obtain support from our partners (see the committee, below), to obtain development funding and a full time Badminton Development Officer.   To do this we, Herts Schools Badminton Association (HSBA), HBA and partners  (listed below) complied with the BE/SE requirements to tailor the BE Whole Sport Plan to create our own specific Herts Whole Sport Plan, the 'BADMINTON HERTS Whole Sport Plan 2005 – 2009' available by clicking here: the end of the 5 year report is included in the annual development  report for 2009.

As required by SE and BE, the BDO and the development (and the corresponding funding) in Herts is managed through this BHDC, comprising:

-          Herts Schools Badminton Association (Angela Blowers)

-         Herts Schools Sports Partnerships' Senior Competitions Manager (Tony Marmo)

-          County Sports Development Officers Workgroup (previously Colin Smyth –  a replacement is being sought)

-          County Sports Partnership  Rep  (Peter Simmons, HSP )

-          badminton area reps from N, E, W & S  of the county (Bob Green, Doug Clark, Liz Bateman)

-          the BDO (Malcolm Jellows)

-          the  BE Regional Manager (Tim Fitches)

-          the  County Coaching  Co-ordinator (Brian Jackson)

-          County Chairman (Malcolm Fraser)

-          County Development Co-ordinator, and HBA Rep on HSBA (Dave Bartlett), BHDC Chairman. 

-          Acting Secretary (and HBA Newsletter rep) (Gill Bartlett)
