2.1 Hertfordshire Badminton Association

The Hertfordshire Badminton Association (HBA) is one of the 41 County Associations represented at BADMINTON England (BE) the governing body for badminton in England. To join a club or play in one of the HBA Leagues it is necessary to become a member of the HBA (and BE). Membership is open to all those interested in joining.
Members' fees are paid through one of the following:

a Club, either an adult fee or full junior fee
-
Junior Clubs that pay a single fee for any number of members (but if an individual requires full benefits e.g., BE magazine and HBA Newsletters, then an upgrade to a full junior member is required)

Herts Badminton Association Individuals club,
Non-playing club helpers can be registered for insurance purposes with their club but no fee is required

Those directly affiliating to BE Headquarters such as Coaches, OnCourt and Courtside are automatically members of HBA in their fees to the BE. However, HBA may not know of their membership until the end of the season. So if they wish to ensure they receive Herts Newsletters and other benefits please notify the Registrations Sec (on the application form).

Organised by Herts Badminton Association, Herts four Inter-county Teams play other counties' teams. The 1st team, which often comprises several international players, are 3rd in Premier A this season. All except the 1st team matches are usually played at the Herts Sports Village, Hatfield,. (See the HBA Newsletter for dates and venues) - and are definitely worth watching! |

Herts County Leagues
The county leagues and tournaments are open to HBA affiliated clubs and the leagues comprise Mens, Ladies and Mixed leagues with 3 divisions in the Mens and two divisions in the others. Tournaments include: Restricted (to those living or born in Herts) Open (to all), Hatfield Team and a Millennium Tournament. Members are also eligible to play in BA of E tournaments. The Association exists to encourage and improve Junior Badminton both in schools and more widely throughout Hertfordshire. It is affiliated to Badminton England and to the Herts Badminton Association.
